Fuel

In almost all cases fuel consumption must be measured. The sponsor may simply be specifically interested in fuel economy and performance; or it may be necessary to measure fuel in order to calculate or verify the emissions results. For liquid fuels it's possible, and often preferable, to record the fuel container's weight using a calibrated scale. For gaseous fuels, or if more detail is desired for liquid fuel, then a fuel flow meter is required.
